At what age can my student start attending?

  • We work with students aged four and up who are able to focus for 10-15 minutes.

How many times a week will my student come to the center and for how long is each visit?

  • April 2020: Due to COVID-19, we are offering the Gideon at Home Correspondence Plan with online sessions using the same booklets.
  • Most students attend twice a week for center visits and complete Gideon assignments at home the other days. However, you can come once a week or request extra classes for an additional fee.
  • Each center visit is typically 20 - 30 minutes per subject to do individual daily assignments, complete any old corrections, and review new material.  A Gideon instructor will be at the table with the students to assist as needed.  We maintain a 2:1 student to teacher ratio for Young Learners (aged 4-8) or 4:1 ratio for Independent Learners (aged 9 and up).

What level of work will my student be doing?

  • During the free placement evaluation, we will find a 'just right' point in the Gideon curriculum based on what skills your student shows as mastered in order to fill any holes and gaps in his foundation.  Read more about the importance of mastering lower levels HERE. Download a full curriculum listing HERE.
  • Our goal is to build confidence through mastery with progress right from the start to encourage focus and concentration.

Does Gideon work with students with learning differences such as dyslexia?

  • Yes, the Gideon program works well for most students, including those with learning differences.  While school must continue on its schedule, we have the luxury to allow the student to set the pace and do any extra practice needed to truly master each level.  If your student has dyslexia, read THIS to find out why Gideon is a good solution.

Does Gideon work with students with special needs such as autism?

  • Yes, the Gideon program works with many special needs students.  We can evaluate further if Gideon is a good fit when we meet your student during the free placement evaluation.

How do we get the MOST out of Gideon?

  • Simply doing the daily work consistently will result in great progress, but review these tips for parents HERE.

We are so pleased with the progress our daughter has made, both in and out of school. The teachers are so patient and wonderful to work with and Neha, the owner, is truly a blessing; she has been especially accommodating during the craziness of COVID-19! If you are looking to help supplement your kiddos school work or looking to Homeschool, you will be very impressed with the Prosper Gideon Math and Reading Center.

Ms. Neha is a rare teacher who is genuinely passionate about her subjects and students. She will find a way to reach her students any way she can.

I am very happy that I chose this Gideon Center for my daughter. Ms. Neha is very attentive and recognizes that not all students learn the same way, therefore she tries to customize her teaching methods, making it easier for the young learners to grasp even the hard concepts. My daughter has begun to enjoy Math lessons since she started at this center!!

Before bringing our daughter to Ms. Neha at Gideon in Prosper she was really having a hard time connecting some concepts in Math. We had only heard positive things from School and thought it was part of the learning process, we did the flash cards and extra worksheets at home, and the extra work only seemed to slow down progress. When we finally took our daughter to Ms. Neha, she took the time to sit down and learn what exactly was needed. The careful approach and dedicated attention made Math fun again for our daughter. Our daughter is excited for every visit and tutoring session now and her confidence in her abilities is amazing. It has stunned us at home and her teachers at school. I highly recommend the program here and especially the care and attention given by Ms. Neha and her staff.

I’ve seen improvement with my son’s competence and confidence in Math and Reading. I would highly recommend Gideon and the Prosper location to anybody in need of tutoring.

Prior to starting at Prosper Gideon, my daughter was struggling with math. She understood some of the basic concepts but couldn't successfully translate at school. And it was starting to wear on her confidence. So, we decided tutoring was the best option. We researched schools, but immediately decided the Prosper Gideon location was the best match for her because of Ms. Neha! Ms. Neha is so invested in her students and we saw an immediate payoff because of her time there. And her latest report card is proof! She went from a low C to a 98!!! During the pandemic, Ms. Neha seamlessly made the transition to online tutoring. Again...she is invested in her students!Because of my daughters time with Ms. Neha her grades and her confidence has been impacted for the better. She now loves math! I credit this to Ms. Neha and her patience and love for the subject. I HIGHLY recommend!

I like the owner and how she really tries to help my boys with the reasons why certain math calculations are done. She really wants the kids to succeed and excel. She’s very helpful and gives extra work if she notices any other weak areas that your kids have in the subject of reading and math. For example my son needed extra help on solving word problems so she takes out extra time with him to learn how to best solve those.
